November 21 is a Day of Dignity and Freedom. It is a holiday celebrated annually in Ukraine to commemorate the start of two revolutions - the Orange revolution (2004) and the Revolution of Dignity (2013).
Celebration in honor of Kyiv polytechnics who sacrificed their lives during the revolution of dignity and in fights on the east of Ukraine was held at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute on 5th anniversary of tragic events (18-20 February, 2014).
On November 21, on the Day of Dignity and Freedom, students, teachers and employees of the National Technical University " Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute"honored the memory of the heroes of Maidan and ATO in eastern Ukraine and recalled the tragic events of the last five years.
On the eve of this holiday, on October 12, students and university staff gathered at the museum square near the monument to Igor Sikorsky and walked to the Temple of St. Nicholas, the heavenly patron of the Kyiv Polytechnic.
On August 30, there was held a solemn opening of the monument to the students and staff members of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
The beginning of the new 2018-2019 year is special for National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”: 120 years ago the first students started their studies here.
On February 20, on the anniversary of the tragic events of four years ago on Independence Square events to commemorate the Heroes of Heavenly Hundred and Kyiv Polytechnicians who gave their lives for the freedom of Ukraine were held at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

On October 12, 2017, a memorial plaque was unveiled in Kyiv to a prominent scientist, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU), professor Ivan Myronovych Chyzhenko, who for almost 40 years was the head of the Department of Theoretical Foundations of Electrical Engineering
