Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute paid the tribute to the memory of Ukrainian cosmonaut Leonid Kadeniuk. In the main building of the university installed a bas-relief with a portrait of the first astronaut of independent Ukraine.
And next to the office 177, in which Kadeniuk worked as an adviser to the rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, hung an information plate.
Leonid Kadeniuk was a great personality for Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute: Dr. h.c. of the faculty of aviation and space systems, vice-chairman of the Supervisory Council of the university, advisor to the rector. He became an important part of university life.“
Leonid Kadeniuk was directly related to the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Therefore, the University gratefully honours his memory, ”said Assistant to the Rector for Historical and Architectural Affairs, Head of the Department of General Physics Vitaliy Kotovskyi.
The grand opening of the bas-relief will take place after the end of quarantine.
