October 14 marks the Day of Defender of Ukraine. It is a holiday of unconquered, conscious citizens who try to protect the fate of our country, the day of all those who are not indifferent, who through their professional, teaching, scientific work, diligent work and education, volunteer work provide protection to Ukraine.
On the eve of this holiday, on October 12, students and university staff gathered at the museum square near the monument to Igor Sikorsky and walked to the Temple of St. Nicholas, the heavenly patron of the Kyiv Polytechnic.
A rally was held near the Temple. Its participants laid flowers at the monument to the Kyiv Polytechnicians, who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. The ceremony of laying flowers was attended by the vice-rectors of the university, the deans of a number of faculties, teachers, co-workers, cadets of the Institute of Physical Education and students of other faculties of the University.
Also, in the departments of the university – ISZZI, in the faculties of sociology and law, computer science and computer technology – teachers and students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute laid flowers on memorial plaques for their co-workers, who died in the east of Ukraine, and the heroes of the Maidan.

The gathering of participants is at 2 p.m. in the square near the State Polytechnic Museum (Building number 6).
