KPI student Taras Karpyuk was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star (posthumously)

During the ceremony of awarding state awards to Ukrainian soldiers, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented the highest state award of Ukraine, the Golden Star, to Taras Karpyuk, a graduate of the Faculty of Sociology and Law (FSP) of Igor Sikorsky KPI, to his brother Yuriy, a KPI student, graduate of the Department of APEPS TEF (currently Institute of IATE), active military volunteer, and to his father Yuriy Nesterenko, head of the Civil Protection Department at KPI.

Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes

February 20 is the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes in Ukraine. This day is of particular importance for our country and the university, because among those who gave their lives for freedom and a decent future of the country in February 2014 were students and graduates of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

Heorhii Mykhailovych Lutskyi passed away

Heorhii Lutskyi was an outstanding teacher, scientist, one of the founders of the school of computer science in Ukraine, a follower of the great deeds of Oleksii Ivakhnenko and Kostiantyn Samofalov, a long-term head of the Department of Computer Science of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute

KPI student Oleksandr Lavreniuk died

Oleksandr was studying at the Faculty of Information Systems and Technologies in the group IA-z31 of the Department of Information Systems and Technologies.

In the rank of senior soldier, he served as a driver of a grenade launcher of a fire support platoon of a fire support company.

KPI graduate Volodymyr Onufrienko died

Volodymyr graduated from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 2008 with a degree in electrical engineering. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, he worked in his specialty. He was a professional in his field. He always treated his professional duties with great responsibility.

Day of Remembrance of the Heroes of Kruty

On January 29, 1918, Ukrainian students stopped the Bolshevik offensive on Kyiv at the cost of their lives.

On this day, we pay tribute to the resilience and courage of the young men who, like today's defenders of Ukraine, stood up to defend the Ukrainian state and stop the attacker.
