Honoring the memory

During the ceremony of awarding state awards to Ukrainian soldiers, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented the highest state award of Ukraine, the Golden Star, to Taras Karpyuk, a graduate of the Faculty of Sociology and Law (FSP) of Igor Sikorsky KPI, to his brother Yuriy, a KPI student, graduate of the Department of APEPS TEF (currently Institute of IATE), active military volunteer, and to his father Yuriy Nesterenko, head of the Civil Protection Department at KPI.

February 20 is the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes in Ukraine. This day is of particular importance for our country and the university, because among those who gave their lives for freedom and a decent future of the country in February 2014 were students and graduates of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

On November 21, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Dignity and Freedom. On this day, we pay tribute to all those who fought for the right of Ukrainians to live in a free, independent, European country during the fateful events of our modern history.

Heorhii Lutskyi was an outstanding teacher, scientist, one of the founders of the school of computer science in Ukraine, a follower of the great deeds of Oleksii Ivakhnenko and Kostiantyn Samofalov, a long-term head of the Department of Computer Science of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute

Volodymyr graduated from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Applied Systems Analytics and worked as a programmer.

On the day of the 154th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Ukrainian scientist Yevhen Oskarovych Paton, a memorial plaque was unveiled at the entrance to the house where he lived.

Oleksandr was studying at the Faculty of Information Systems and Technologies in the group IA-z31 of the Department of Information Systems and Technologies.

In the rank of senior soldier, he served as a driver of a grenade launcher of a fire support platoon of a fire support company.

Volodymyr graduated from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 2008 with a degree in electrical engineering. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, he worked in his specialty. He was a professional in his field. He always treated his professional duties with great responsibility.

Every year on this date KPI students honor the fallen fighters for the independence of the Ukrainian people.

On January 29, 1918, Ukrainian students stopped the Bolshevik offensive on Kyiv at the cost of their lives.

On this day, we pay tribute to the resilience and courage of the young men who, like today's defenders of Ukraine, stood up to defend the Ukrainian state and stop the attacker.
