On November 21, on the Day of Dignity and Freedom, students, teachers and employees of the National Technical University " Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute"honored the memory of the heroes of Maidan and ATO in eastern Ukraine and recalled the tragic events of the last five years.
After lessons, they laid flowers at the monument to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred near the Temple of St. Nicholas, and commemorated those who died on the Maidan and in the battles oo the East of Ukraine. Among the thousands of heroes who gave their lives for the Motherland, there were a student of the part-time studying department of the Faculty of Sociology and Law Yuriy Popravka, a student of the part-time studying department of the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Science Serhiy Bondarev and a graduate of the Military Institute Maksym Shapoval, a research fellow of the Department of Electronics Andriy Yeremenko, a student of the Mechanical Engineering Institute Yuriy Artiukh, a student of the welding faculty Vadym Zherebylo, a graduate of the Mechanical Engineering Institute Volodymyr Kochetkov-Sukach, a student of the sociology department Vladyslav Diusov, a student of Biotechnology and Bioengineering Faculty Oleksander Kondratiuk, the worker of the Economic Department of KPI Mykhailo Fedorenko, a worker of KPI Ihor Pavlo, graduates Ihor Shevchenko, Oleksander Petryshchuk, Pavlo Mazurenko.
The ceremony was attended by the rector of Igor Sikorsky KPI, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykhailo Zgurovsky, a vice-rector for educational work Petro Kyrychok, a chairman of the NGO "Veteran of KPI" Yuri Nesterenko and others.
The leaders and students of the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering in the Building No. 18 and of the Faculty of Sociology and Law in Building No. 19 also laid flowers to memorial plaques placed in these buildings to the Heroes of Ukraine, Serhiy Bondarev and Yuriy Popravka.
