Paton, whose name is the Educational and Research Institute of Materials Science and Welding of KPI, is the inseparable unity of KPI scientists with scientists of the Institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine of physical and material science profile. In this cooperation, KPI is represented by the E.O. Paton Institute of IMZ - a large educational, scientific and innovative complex in the structure of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, which includes 5 departments.
