On November 21, Ukrainians remember and honor those who fought for Ukraine's right to independence and democracy in two revolutions, and defended our freedom and sovereignty in the war zone. Traditionally, this day Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute representatives put flowers at the monument to the Defenders of the Fatherland near the Inter-confessional Church of St. Nicholas. The participants pay tribute to the memory of those who died with a minute of silence.
On the Day of Dignity and Freedom, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute members remember their heroes. More than a hundred members of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (ZSU) and the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU). Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute graduates who went to fight in the east as volunteers tripled this number. 14 heroes gave their lives for Ukraine.
‘Unfortunately, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute members also paid a high price for protecting the dignity and freedom of their country, giving the lives of 14 students and staff.
