Igor Sikorsky KPI is increasingly established as a center of sociological education and research. In particular, the representatives of the student sociological community of the university successfully declare themselves in professional competitions and olympiads.

This year the Department of Philosophy of the Igor Sikorsky KPI celebrates the 60th anniversary of its foundation.

2018 was declared the Year of Cultural Heritage in Europe. It began under the slogan “Our heritage: where the past meets the future”. Its main goal is to attract more people to the discovering and recognition of Europe's cultural achievements.

A famous British-American researcher, writer and journalist, author of popular works on the history of the former USSR and Eastern Europe, and problems of civil society and communism, Professor of the Institute of Global Affairs of the London School of Economics (UK) Ann Applebaum met with students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute on May 30.

From May 15 till May 20, 2018 the VIII Annual International Scientific and Practical Conference "Legal Regulation of Public Relations on the Way to Sustainable Development" was held in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute at the Faculty of Sociology and Law.

On February the 26th in the Igor Sikorsky Kyi Polytechnic Institute occurred an official opening of the Training program for specialists of "Ukroboronprom" on the "Management of the military-industrial complex".

"Who passively waits – in the end receive the expected, but only what is left after those who were playing vigorously," – this credo has defined for herself, Alyona Grishko, the student of the 6th course FSP, scholar of the President of Ukraine.

An agreement on cooperation between the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and state-owned enterprise "Ukroboronprom" was signed on December 22, 2017 in the university.

On November 21 the students of the FSP was found with a group of employees of the Ministry of internally displaced from the occupied territories persons, refugees and accommodation of Georgia, headed by Minister Sozar Subari and the Minister of the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons of Ukraine Vadym Chernysh.
