During the panel discussion organized by the Ministry of Education and Science in cooperation with YEP, important issues regarding the transformation of science in universities as one of the drivers of innovative development in Ukraine were discussed.
Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has the largest number of science parks among higher education institutions in Ukraine. That is why Andrii Shysholin, Vice-Rector for International Relations at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, presented a model of the university's innovative ecosystem and described in detail the activities of three science parks:
📌 Kyiv Polytechnic National Research University – focused on classical applied science in engineering, ICT, energy, and defense;
📌 FinCord-Polytech – focused on supporting innovation financing and the development of critical technologies;
📌 Sikorski Challenge Additive Technologies – combines research and 3D modeling, startups, and developments in the field of biomedical engineering.
Natalia Seminska, Director of Sikorski Challenge Additive Technologies, focused on the practical aspects of launching and operating the park, as well as its role in restoring human capital and creating jobs.
During the meeting, participants also had the opportunity to learn more about the Science City concept as a promising model for integrating universities, science parks, the state, and business for the development of innovation.
