Recognition of merits and expression of gratitude

During the meeting on the highest level between the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich and the Prime Minister of Japan Naoto Kana, that was held on the 16th of January 2011, in the course of discussion of the state and prospects of the bilateral partnership the Heads of two countries mention the functioning of the Ukrainian-Japanese Centre of NTUU "KPI". In the "Mutual declaration between the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich and Prime Minister of Japan Naoto Kana about Ukrainian-Japanese global partnership" was written: "…Among various types of activities of the Centre the two Heads pointed out that the technical cooperation on Japanese projects and management of programs were extremely important for the development of particular branches of Ukrainian economy. They admitted that the Centre must remain being an important element of bilateral partnership in the realm of science and technology, stimulation of investments, learning Japanese language, mutual enrichment of the cultures, increasing the level of the mutual understanding with the active involving of all parts interested from the both countries..."

An action ‘Lights sorrow’ on the Knowledge Square

There was an action ‘Lights sorrow’ on the 11th of March on the Knowledge Square at NTUU ‘KPI’ dedicated to the memory of Great Earthquake and Tsunami victims of 2011. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine Sakata Toichi took part in the action.

The Japanese New Year in Ukraine

The Ukrainian-Japanese center NTUU “KPI” regularly organizes events which are aimed for the acquaintance of Kiev citizens with the Japanese culture. There was a Japanese New Year holiday Motitsuki in the hall of the National-technical library NTUU “KPI” on the 3d of February 2013.

Meeting with Prof. Tetsuya Ishikawa

On September 15, 2012 on occasion of the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Japan Mr. Sen Genshitsu, the grand tea master of the “Urasenke” tea ceremony school, conducted a demonstration of traditional ceremony of preparation and serving tea at the Culture and Arts Center of NTUU "KPI".

December 14 Ambassador of Japan Toichi Sakata donated to the State Polytechnic Museum at "KPI" Japanese model of space rocket "H-IIB".
