On June 5, the election of the rector of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" took place.

Candidate for the position, Academician of the NAS of Ukraine Michael Zgurovsky met with professors, staff and recipients of higher education and presented his university development program for the period until 2023 on May 27, at an expanded open meeting of the University Academic Council in preparation for the election of the rector of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is awarded with the Grand Prix "The leader of the higher education of Ukraine" of the international educational exhibition "modern educational institutions" which took place in the Kiev Palace of children and youths from March 14 to March 16.

Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Michael Zgurovskyi, the Rector of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, received the highest award from the People's Republic of China for foreign experts who have made an outstanding contribution to economic and social progress and contributed to the country's innovative development, the “Award of Friendship”.

On September 3, 2018, the rector of the Poznań University of Technology Professor Thomas Lodygowski presented the medal “For Services to Poznań Technological University” to the rector of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Michael Zgurovskyi.

April 12, 2018, at the Center for Culture and Arts, a conference was held at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

Zghurovsky was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ukroboronprom
State Concern at the meeting of the Supervisory Board of Ukroboronprom State
Concern.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko appointed the Rector of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Mykhailo Zghurovskyi a member of the Supervisory Board of the State Concern "Ukroboronprom"

The guest of the first meeting of the intellectual club "OSA", which took place in the Scientific and Technical Library of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute on November 14, was the rector of the University Mikhailo Zgurovsky.

In the first days of October, the rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU) Mikhaylo Zgurovsky visited two Polish technical universities - Poznań Polytechnic and Opole Polytechnic.
