September 8, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute hosted the first “TechnoArtKPI” and “Kyiv Extreme Fest” festival.

On June, 25, Igor Sikorsky KPI and the State Enterprise “Plant 410 CA” and Corporation “Science Park” Kyivska Polytechnica” signed an agreement on strategic partnership.

A contest for the best academic group came to an end. This year there were a lot of participants, and strict judges fairly chose the winners.

At the “Sikorsky Challenge” startups competition, which has recently been held at Igor Sikorsky KPI, the scientists from the Faculty of Welding presented a mobile plant working on air-water-carbon plasma for coolants heating.

At the end of May 2016 on occasion of 80year of  Welding department KPI in NTUU "KPI"         the International conference «Innovative technologies and engineering in welding of «PolyWed-2016» took place.

Round-table meeting was dedicated to the development of homeland electric transport which was organized May 25 at NTUU «KPI». Participants were presentedwith a elecrobus which was made by consortiums members "Elektrobus Ukraine" and improvement has been continuing till our days.

Nobel laureate of year 2011, professor Daniel Shechtman delivered a public lecture in NTUU “KPI” in January, 27.

The Department of Welding was founded in the mechanical department of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute in 1935 on the initiative of famous scientist and engineer Paton E. O. He became its first head.

October 7, 2015 in NTUU "KPI" there was a presentation of the racing car class Formula SAE, which was designed and constructed by students NTUU "KPI" led by head of the integrated technology engineering department MMI Doctor of Technical Sciences Professor Vitalii Pasichnyk.

In November NTUU "KPI" specialists participated in two major industrial exhibitions.
