During the existence of the Joint Ukrainian-German Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Physical Engineering, headed by a corresponding member of the NAS of Ukraine, Prof., DEng. P.I.

On 7th of May 2016 it was 85 years from birthday of professor, doctor of technical science, head of foundry department in Kyiv Polytechnic Institute from 1974 till 1991, professor emeritus of NTUU “KPI” in 1998, member of Academy of engineering science of Ukraine in 1998 – Stepan Doroshenko.

Nobel laureate of year 2011, professor Daniel Shechtman delivered a public lecture in NTUU “KPI” in January, 27.

Anti-terrorist operation is still conducted in the east of Ukraine, and volunteers from KPI student try to help our soldiers.

From the 5th to 9th of October in the NTUU “KPI” at the Faculty of Physical Engineering, V international scientific conference on high technologies in materials science "HighMatTech-2015" was held.

In October 7-8 in NTUU “KPI” was took place The First scientific-practical conference "Modern state and prospects of biomedical engineering and medical industry of Ukraine"

March 26 at the Conference Hall of the Academic Council NTUU "KPI" it was held the International scientific-practical conference "The contribution of science and students in improving energy efficiency and environmental friendliness of ferroalloy production."

This year a postgraduate student of Metal Physics Department at FPE Igor Vladymyrskyi won the competition NAS Ukraine for obtaining prizes for young scientists and university students for the best scientific work.
