April 6–7th, 2017 in Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov, located in Bishkek, (Kyrgyzstan) ІІ International student scientific conference "Deutsch und Technik" was carried out. The students from three countries, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, were taking part in it.

According to the decree of President of Ukraine dated April, 7, 2017, №101/2017 «On conferring state prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology 2016”, the following Kyiv polytechnic s became new laureates:

November 21, 2016 Prilutsky Mikhail Ivanovich - deputy head of the department of physical and chemical bases of technology of metals, Senior Lecturer - celebrated his 80th anniversary. And soon turns 60, he crossed the threshold of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute.

On 7 March, representative in charge of UNESCO new policy, Jean-Paul Juste Ngomee Abiega and heads of National center “Small Academy of Science of Ukraine” – its president, correspondent member of Ukrainian NAS, Stanislav Dovgyi, director of SAS of Ukraine, Oksen Lisivyi and other visited Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute.

   The third-year engineering physics faculty Stasiuk is a future engineer, a specialist of composite and powder materials.

January 26 at the Department of Physics and Metals of Physical Engineering Faculty Doors Open Day took place. There were invited students of 10th and 11th grades from one of Kiev schools - potential applicants and their parents. In general, everyone could visit this event.

On the basis of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine order №1213  from the 7th of October, 2016 scholarship of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine received a charming girl of the Physics of Metals Department IFF  Alina Chernysh and Anastasia Falovska.

During the existence of the Joint Ukrainian-German Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Physical Engineering, headed by a corresponding member of the NAS of Ukraine, Prof., DEng. P.I.

On 7th of May 2016 it was 85 years from birthday of professor, doctor of technical science, head of foundry department in Kyiv Polytechnic Institute from 1974 till 1991, professor emeritus of NTUU “KPI” in 1998, member of Academy of engineering science of Ukraine in 1998 – Stepan Doroshenko.

Nobel laureate of year 2011, professor Daniel Shechtman delivered a public lecture in NTUU “KPI” in January, 27.
