Professor from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Atsushi Sakuma, visited NTUU "KPI". During three day period he had the chance to get acquainted with the university and its faculties, institutes and research units, visited laboratories, teaching and research centers .
In December 2013 Vice-Principal of "KPI" prof. Sergey Sidorenko was in Japan. During the visit, he were on Synchrotron complex "SPring-8", the headquarters of "Ryhaku Corporation" and Tokyo plant, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, Embassy of Ukraine in Japan.
On October, 24 the Vice President of the University of Tokyo, professor Yoishyro Matsumoto read a lecture at NTUU "KPI", due to the "Developing and encouraging partnerships between higher education and industry - joint research, technology transfer and university entrepreneurship."
On October,11 at the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" was held an international seminar on " Fukushima -Chernobyl : Lessons from Chernobyl to Fukushima".
On October, 4 the Rector of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Michael Zgurovsky and president of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology Professor Tadashi Matsunaha signed an agreement on academ
The world-famous scientist ,who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry ( 2001 ) ,the President of the Japanese Institute of Physical and Chemical Research «RIKEN» Dr.
During the meeting on the highest level between the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich and the Prime Minister of Japan Naoto Kana, that was held on the 16th of January 2011, in the course of discussion of the state and prospects of the bilateral partnership the Heads of two countries mention the functioning of the Ukrainian-Japanese Centre of NTUU "KPI". In the "Mutual declaration between the President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich and Prime Minister of Japan Naoto Kana about Ukrainian-Japanese global partnership" was written: "…Among various types of activities of the Centre the two Heads pointed out that the technical cooperation on Japanese projects and management of programs were extremely important for the development of particular branches of Ukrainian economy. They admitted that the Centre must remain being an important element of bilateral partnership in the realm of science and technology, stimulation of investments, learning Japanese language, mutual enrichment of the cultures, increasing the level of the mutual understanding with the active involving of all parts interested from the both countries..."
On March, 28 NTUU “KPI” was visited by the founder and the head of the International forum “Science and technologies in community” («Science and Technology in Society forum», in brief «STS forum») Kodzi Omi and Extraordinary and Authorized Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine Sakata Toichi.
The third annual fair of Japanese universities "Education in Japan" was held on March, 16 in NTUU "KPI". The organizer of the fair was Ukrainian - Japanese Center of NTUU "KPI". The assisting of the organization of the fair center was provided by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine , the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japanese organization helping students (JASSO).
There was an action ‘Lights sorrow’ on the 11th of March on the Knowledge Square at NTUU ‘KPI’ dedicated to the memory of Great Earthquake and Tsunami victims of 2011. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine Sakata Toichi took part in the action.
