Traditionally on the Ukrainian writing and language Day, the 9th of November, Department of the Ukrainian Language, Literature and Culture hosted the qualifying round of the Petro Jacyk International Ukrainian Language Contest - “The Literacy Master” Competition.

It has become a tradition to host the “Shevchenko's readings” competition on the Ukrainian Writing Day eve in the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

"League of laughter" of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is the first official students' "League of laughter". The season started last year, namely, on October,3, when teams who aimed to try themselves in new project gathered.

This spring brought a victory at All-Ukrainian contests and competitions at once to three students of the faculty of linguistics.

On February 28, 2018, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Languages ​​of Professional Communication: Linguistic, Cognitive-Discourse, Translation Studies and Methodological Aspects” was held on the basis of the graduate departments of the Faculty of Linguistics.

On the 1st of March 1 students and staff of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute met the coach of the Agency for the Development of International Cooperation of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Israel and the Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center Natalia Mazor.

Recently were announced the winners of the city stage of the XVIII Peter Jacyk International Competition on the Ukrainian Language, which annually collects the best schools and universities students, cadets of military schools for the holiday of Ukrainian literature.

On February the 26th in the Igor Sikorsky Kyi Polytechnic Institute occurred an official opening of the Training program for specialists of "Ukroboronprom" on the "Management of the military-industrial complex".

A contest for the best academic group came to an end. This year there were a lot of participants, and strict judges fairly chose the winners.

An agreement on cooperation between the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and state-owned enterprise "Ukroboronprom" was signed on December 22, 2017 in the university.
