Fluffy green tree is the main symbol of new year and Christmas holidays. Dressed before the New year in a city apartment, a farmhouse or simply outdoors, coniferous beauty seems completely natural and taken for granted.

I think these lines of Alexander Pushkin are familiar to all. And all students of KPI can enjoy by trees that are dressed in the gold and purple robes at our university.

Not far from Igor Sikorsky monument, near the helicopter, a new seeding of the rare Ginkgo was planted on June 2. It is a gift from a social organization “Osviteks”.

We have become accustomed to numerous photo shoots on the background of the university’s first building. It was portrayed in many angles. And the invariable attribute of summer photos is the look through the spruce branches or fragile greens almost century-old willows.

It is called exotic plant among conifers. With all the features of the needle, the tree overthrows needles in the winter and in spring it is covered with young greens. Its Russian name originates from this - "lystvennytsa" and Ukrainian one - modryna. Botanists call it Larix.

Among the oldest and most respected trees of Ukraine there are many oak trees older than 300 years (only 8 of them are older than 1000 years).The legends tell about them.

In recent years, many city residents were drawn to the dacha plots: try a new business - gardening, horticulture - and benefit from it, and perhaps pleasure.

Neither the color does not affect a person so as red. Irresistible, exciting, full of the joys of life – it is all about red. There are about 105 shades of "color of passion." No one else has such a large number of shades.

A strange tree, enclosed by a  short fence, is growing on the back side of the west wing of the main building. In autumn, it drops its strange, painted in golden yellow color leaves, which kids and adults like to collect.

Ginkgo biloba can be propagated in three ways: by seeds, offshoots and grafts. Grafts are the easiest way to propagate ginkgo. It is better to take young grafts, cut them late in July, cut the leaves from them and put in the water to form roots. You can add accelerator root there.
