In September, an annual competition in testing of information systems security and Internet Intelligence "Layered defense – 2013" was held which is conducted by training center "Eshalon" within the International exhibition Infosecurity Russia 2013.

At modern IT companies graduates of the FTI are strongly required. Foundamental education of basic knowledge and modern special knowledges will let them work at world-known corporations, state enterprises and private companies. Student of the sixth course Dmutro Progonov and student of the 5th course Olexander Kornienko are specialists in technical defence of the information. They are the best students of the FTI and they are grant holders of the head of the university.

Skills and ability to puzzle out atypical tasks were shown us by talented students of Ukraine during the annual contest in the field of “Information security” which traditionally took place on April 15 - 17 at the faculty of information security of Institute of Physics and Technology of NTUU “KPI

On February, 22 NTUU "KPI" hosted a ceremony of announcing the results of the "Intel Techno Ukraine 2013"competition of the national phase of international Competition «Intel ISEF» in science and engineering activity among school students.

Representatives of the organizational staff and the jury announced the names of the winners in five categories from the scene of the NTUU "KPI" Center of Culture and Arts and presented them with gifts. The contest participants were also provided with diplomas and certificates of international scientific societies of American Meteorological Society, Materials Foundation ASM, the Association of Earth female researchers, National Mathematical Society of high schools and colleges and the Society of Biology in vitro.

In December 2009 started working intercathedral educational and scientific laboratory of noninvasive methods for studying biological objects.
