The Heroes of Ukraine

During the ceremony of awarding state awards to Ukrainian soldiers, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented the highest state award of Ukraine, the Golden Star, to Taras Karpyuk, a graduate of the Faculty of Sociology and Law (FSP) of Igor Sikorsky KPI, to his brother Yuriy, a KPI student, graduate of the Department of APEPS TEF (currently Institute of IATE), active military volunteer, and to his father Yuriy Nesterenko, head of the Civil Protection Department at KPI.

Hundreds of streets and prospects have been renamed in the capital since 2014.

Every year, on April 26, a memorial bell rings over Ukraine. We will never forget the catastrophe at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, which changed the lives of each of us forever. So far, the number of accident victims is only approximate, while the number of dead reaches 600,000 people.

The Day of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred is celebrated in Ukraine on February 20. It is a tribute to the people who changed the course of the history of Ukraine, sparing no their own lives for this, and Kyiv polytechnicians, too.

On January 22nd, people who have proved devotion to Ukraine and its independence with their own lives met students and professors of Institute of Publishing and Printing of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute; these were Ilmi Umerov, the Ukrainian-Tatar politician, since 1991 is a permanent member of the Majilis of the Crimean Tatar people, the chairman of Bakhchysarai district state administration in 2005-2014 and Volodymyr Zhemchugov, the Hero of Ukraine, the Ukrainian partisan

Celebration in honor of Kyiv polytechnics who sacrificed their lives during the revolution of dignity and in fights on the east of Ukraine was held at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute on 5th anniversary of tragic events (18-20 February, 2014).

On February 20, on the anniversary of the tragic events of four years ago on Independence Square events to commemorate the Heroes of Heavenly Hundred and Kyiv Polytechnicians who gave their lives for the freedom of Ukraine were held at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

On the occasion of the Day of Goodwill and Freedom that celebrates in Ukraine on November 21 and in honor of the beginning of two revolutions: The Orange Revolution (2004) and the Revolution of Goodwill (2013), the teachers, employees and students of the National Technical University of Ukrain

On February, 19th next to the Heaven’s Hundred monument students and lecturer of KPI commemorated Kyiv polytechnicians – participants of the Revolution of Dignity and ATO warriors who gave their lives for freedom and independence of our country.
