On February, 19th next to the Heaven’s Hundred monument students and lecturer of KPI commemorated Kyiv polytechnicians – participants of the Revolution of Dignity and ATO warriors who gave their lives for freedom and independence of our country.
Mykhailo Zhurovskyi, rector of NTUU “KPI”, academician of NAS of Ukraine, Stanislav Dovhyi, the president of the Junior Academy of Sciences, correspondent member of NAS of Ukraine, Dmytro Pavlychko, prominent Ukrainian poet, relatives of dead warriors, lecture, students and residents of adjacent buildings took part in the ceremony.
‘Two years have passed since that tragic winter of 2014. Despite all the difficulties and disappointments that we are experiencing, our country is becoming difference. Heaven’s Hundred Heroes changed our country. Our passed warriors also changed it. Step by step our country along with us is becoming different. – stressed Mykhailo Zhurovskyi when speaking at mournful meeting. – Kyiv Polytechnic Institute sacrificed seven lives of its students and colleagues. Today we are commemorating them… Eternal glory to our heroes. Great respect and gratitude to them for what they did for all of us… ’
The ceremony participants also laid flowers to the memorials of Serhii Bondarev, the students of the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Science, the Hero of Ukraine, in the Building 18 and Yurii Popravko, the student of the Faculty of Law and Sociology, the Hero of Ukraine, in the Building 19.
