From the speech of scientific work pro-rector of NTUU “KPI” M.U. Ilchenko at Academic Senate on the 14th january 2013 р.
In 2012 р. scientific and innovational activity of our university kept on developing. We have proved our reputation of the leading university of Ukraine, being on the list of world's best universities for the second year and having kept leadership in home rating of the universities.
In modern globalized world through the use of advanced telecommunications and information technologies are important problems timely exchange of information on scientific achievements regardless of their locations. These problems are not only technical, but also organizational, verbal, financial and other aspects. The need to solve them is obvious, because it depends on the success of social development in many areas, including during preparation and appraisal of scientific personnel.
A joint conference "Siemens Ukraine" and the Faculty of Electric Power Engineering and Automation was held in NTUU”KPI” at January 10.
The seminar called “The intellectual property right in the context of the national legislation” under the initiative of the Government intellectual property service of Ukraine at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” took place on the 14th of December, 2012.
On December 11-13, 2012 the final stage of the first Ukrainian Festival of Innovative Projects “Sikorsky Challenge” took place at NTUU “KPI”. The Festival is named after famous aircraft designer Igor Sikorsky.
Among the Festival’s organizers there were National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Science park “Kyivska Polytechnika”, Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU), Independent Association of the Banks of Ukraine (IABU). The Festival was held under the patronage of the Leonid Kuchma’s Presidential Foundation “Ukraine” in collaboration with the Embassy of the USA in Ukraine, European Commission, innovative companies and funds of Ukraine, European Union and the United States. The international jury consisted of experts from Ukraine, USA, France, Brazil and Japan.
On November 15, 2012 leaders of NTUU "KPI" and Science Park "Kyiv Polytechnic” held a meeting with representatives of the Embassy of the United States of America in Ukraine Mr. Eric A. Johnson, Counselor for Public Affairs, and Ms. Vera Ternovska, an Academic Affairs Specialist.
Recently was received a letter which addressed to rector of KPI M. Zgurovsky from the National Children's Specialized Hospital "OHMATDET" Ministry of Health of Ukraine, where doctors praised the work on improving the technical, information and software made for them by experts KPI .
Representatives of the Department of nuclear power plants and engineering thermophysics (NPP and ET) of NTUU "KPI" thermal power department took part in one of the most prestigious international conferences on nuclear safety, held on July 30-August 3 in Anaheim (California, USA).
