The seminar called “The intellectual property right in the context of the national legislation” under the initiative of the Government intellectual property service of Ukraine at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” took place on the 14th of December, 2012. Students of the III, IV and V years of studies, the science and innovation department employees, members of the expert-consultative commission in intellectual property and Intellectual property professors had the chance to participate in the event.
The first deputy head of the Government service Oleksyj Yanov opened the seminar. He pointed out that KPI students are taking an active part in the research, and with the increase of legal awareness in the intellectual property field this kind of seminar should become a great opportunity for getting answers to questions concerning protection or usage of the intellectual property in the context of the national legislation.
The leading specialists of the Government service and the representatives of the organization “Ukraine Alliance Against Counterfeiting and Piracy” highlighted legislation issues in the intellectual property field (the industrial property, copyright and joint tenancy) and the state intellectual property objects registration. They also considered legislation problems in the field of copyright and joint tenancy in the Internet, government control under intellectual property objects right etc.
