🦾🦿 The educational and research laboratory for prosthetics, medical rehabilitation, and occupational therapy allows for full-scale modeling of upper and lower limbs, followed by the manufacture of prosthetic socket sleeves (socket receivers). The skills acquired by students are in high demand on the labor market, as these technologies and processes are currently the most widespread in prosthetic centers in Ukraine.

Practical training base for students majoring in:

Biomedical Engineering (FBMI)
“Applied Mechanics” (Institute of MMI) — certificate programs/specializations: “Engineering and Prosthetics Technologies” at the bachelor's level, “Medical Engineering Technologies in Prosthetics” and “Additive Technologies in Prosthetics” at the master's level.

📌 The laboratory also allows students to develop skills in prosthetic rehabilitation, during which patients must learn the basic techniques of using a prosthesis, which is an important first step after prosthesis installation.

Practical training base for bachelor's and master's students studying at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering and Medicine in the specialty “Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy” and in educational programs within it: “Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy” at the bachelor's level and “Physical Therapy” at the master's level.

The laboratory, together with the Educational and Innovation Center for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation and the Additive Technologies Science Park, is part of the innovative ecosystem created at Igor Sikorsky KPI, which combines education, science, technology, medical engineering, and support for veterans.

💬 After the opening of the laboratory, a panel discussion was held on the prospects for training, internships, and employment for veterans studying in the master's program at KPI.

🏢 It is important to note that there are currently plans to create an inclusive space for veterans in one of the dormitories of Kyiv Polytechnic University.

✨ The grant program for the education of veterans in master's programs, as well as the creation of an inclusive educational infrastructure, is being implemented at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with the support of the Ukrainian IT company appflame and the Genesis for Ukraine fund.
