In the turbulent days of November 2022, when russian missile strikes caused the largest systemic failure in Ukraine's power grid and plunged the country into darkness, only clear coordination and quick decision-making helped energy workers to restore power to nuclear power plants and the entire power grid in record time by international standards. Among those who stood at the control panel of Ukraine's unified power grid, supplying power to substations, was Serdar Charyev, senior dispatcher of the centralized dispatch control center of NEC Ukrenergo and a graduate of KPI. 

A solar power plant has been launched at the E.O. Paton Educational and Research Institute of Materials Science and Welding. The Institute of IMZ is the second university unit after the Scientific and Technical Library to be equipped with such an alternative source of electricity.

The team of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is the absolute winner of the II Kyiv Chess Championship among the teaching staff of higher education institutions of the capital of Ukraine!

The competition for victory was fierce and lasted two days:

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, at the invitation of CESAER, took part in the CESAER Task Force Sustainable Funding Meeting 2025, which was held this year at the Warsaw University of Technology.

The main purpose of calculating greenhouse gas emissions is to implement clause 10 of the Kyiv Polytechnic’s Environmental Protection Policy and to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals on climate change.

As is known, the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is probably the only technical university in Ukraine, whose mission explicitly specifies a focus on sustainable development goals. This is clearly indicated in the university's mission statement:

Our university was visited by a delegation of the NATO Joint Center of Excellence for Cyber Defense (CCDCOE) led by its director, Dr. Mart Noorma, who has many successful cases in the field of innovation, digital transformation and development of scientific and technical areas in Europe.
