February 20 is the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes in Ukraine. This day is of particular importance for our country and the university, because among those who gave their lives for freedom and a decent future of the country in February 2014 were students and graduates of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
11 years have passed since those tragic events on the Maidan. 11 years of struggle against Russian aggression, which continues to this day. For three years now, Ukraine has been resisting a full-scale invasion, and once again, Kyiv Polytechnics are in the ranks of Ukraine's defenders, defending our right to a free life.
Today, students, faculty and staff of our university paid tribute and laid flowers at the monument to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred. Their feat is an example of courage, patriotism and selflessness, and it is our duty to keep their memory alive by making every effort to build a strong and independent Ukraine.
