The X International Scientific and Practical Conference “Mathematics in a Modern Technical University” was held at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute for two days on February 20-21, 2025. Since 2013, it has been regularly organized by the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Philosophy of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Each of the previous conferences was attended by more than 100 participants, who made more than 900 reports in total.

The X International Scientific and Practical Conference was held online. It was devoted to important aspects of mathematics, the application of mathematical methods in other fields of science and technology, the historical development of the exact sciences and approaches to teaching mathematics in higher education in the context of modern educational reforms and the challenges of today. The conference was attended not only by professors, graduate students, and students of Kyiv Polytechnic, but also by researchers from the Institute of Mathematics and the Institute of Applied Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Vinnytsia, Kharkiv, and Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical Universities, and universities in Volyn, Kyiv, Poltava, Odesa, Uzhhorod, and Chernivtsi. At the meetings of the program committee, which, in addition to KPI mathematicians, included their colleagues from Australia, Great Britain, Spain, Canada, Poland, the USA, and France, the abstracts of the submitted reports and their scientific significance were thoroughly discussed. For the first time in all the years of the conference, the texts of all abstracts were checked for coincidences with other literary sources.
The conference participants worked in three sections.
The program of the section “Applications of Mathematics in Related Sciences” included 44 reports on the application of methods of mathematical and functional analysis, algebra, differential equations, probability theory, mathematical statistics, random process theory to solving problems in physics, insurance and financial mathematics, cryptanalysis, reliability theory, geographic information intelligence, etc. Of particular interest were the reports devoted to the study of dynamic systems, complex recovery processes, and the role of mathematical methods in geographic information intelligence (GEOINT).
The topics of the presentations made within the program of the section “Methods of Teaching Mathematics and Modern Educational Technologies in Higher Education” covered a wide range of topical issues, including the use of artificial intelligence for the development and analysis of tests in higher mathematics, assessment of students' mathematical competencies in distance learning, innovative approaches to teaching mathematical disciplines in the context of modern challenges and digitalization of education, and the problem of academic integrity of students during the passing of control measures.
The program of the section “History of the exact sciences” included 17 reports, nine of which were prepared by colleagues from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Lutsk, Kherson, and the rest were presented by teachers and students of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The participants' abstracts covered various aspects of the history of mathematics. Particular attention was paid to the development of mathematical science and education in Ukraine, outstanding personalities whose names remain in the history of science, and the sources of a number of modern areas of mathematics.
The conference proceedings will be posted in the ELAKPI electronic repository and will be freely available.
