The first president of independent Ukraine, Leonid Kravchuk, died at the age of 89.
Leonid Makarovych Kravchuk is an outstanding political and public figure who dedicated his life to the formation of a free, democratic, prosperous state of Ukraine.
Yukhym Moiseyovych had been working at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute since 1965: he occupied various engineering positions, was a group supervisor, and a senior researcher at the Department of Radio Receiving Devices of RTF.
Dear Polytechnicians! On these May days, we honor the older generation who had to go through the deadly fires of World War II.
Four teams took part in the competition: students of the university, students - territorial defense volunteers, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute veterans and police. With the war, the varsity team did not play in full, and the territorial defenders made their debut in the tournament.

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is a world-renowned technical university and one of Ukraine's most respected institutions of higher education. Its rectors have been distinguished scholars whose lives and scientific achievements are, for the most part, well documented. However, during the interwar period of the twentieth century, the fate of some of them was tragic. The communist regime accused them of their scientific and administrative activities, although their only goal was to preserve Ukrainian science and prevent the loss of the university's academic staff.
On May 5, an online meeting was held between the Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Michael Zgurovsky and the co-founder of the Ukrainian-Polish Center, Vice-President of the International Expert Ranking Group for Universities (IREG), Waldemar Siwinski.
On May 4, Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Michael Zgurovsky and Rector of Teofil Yasinovsky Poznan University of Technology Teofil Jesionowski had a meeting. It was about the cooperation of universities under conditions of war.
Student volunteers support the initiative to save animals from liberated towns and villages of Kyiv region where there were fights. The university has set up a shelter for dogs and cats. Now paws are fed and treated. Student volunteers are on duty near animals day and night.
Today, May 3, an online meeting of representatives of American and Ukrainian universities took place. It was initiated by the University of Arizona to support the Ukrainian educational and scientific community and help it address the challenges posed by a full-scale war.
