The monorail road with a linear electric drive was developed in the 1960s and 1970s at the Department of Automation of electromechanical systems and electrical drives (AEMS-ED) with the participation of the Department of Electric Machines at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (now FEA)
The patent issued to the invention was made by a group of authors from the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytecnic Institute and Technical University of Dresden (Germany), is registered in 120 countries!
The gold medal of the winner in the International competition of scientific and artistic projects of pupils of secondary general schools "Genius was received by the Ukrainian Mykola Ivanchenko " in 2017 in New York, who is a graduate of the Kyiv school № 225.
