Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has long since ceased to be merely a space of lecture halls where knowledge is transferred from teacher to student. Today, the university is a living laboratory of ideas, where a new generation of specialists is being shaped at the intersection of science, engineering, and responsibility. So it makes sense that this is where the finals of the 5th All-Ukrainian Engineering Hackathon SmaRTF took place—an event that was not just another competition, but a true symbol of our times, in which technical thinking takes on strategic importance.

The H.I. Denisenko Scientific and Technical Library comprises many important departments that provide ongoing, high-quality support for the university’s educational and research activities. Some departments have existed since the university’s inception, while others were established quite recently. Among the latter is the Department of Rare and Valuable Documents. In late fall 2025, it celebrated its 10th anniversary.

At the end of last year, the Ministry of Education and Science issued an order on the awarding of the President of Ukraine’s academic scholarships to graduate students for the 2025/2026 academic year. These scholarships will be awarded to candidates with outstanding scientific or academic achievements as an incentive for their work and motivation to achieve high results. Among the recipients is Andriy Makarchuk, an assistant professor in the Department of Software Engineering in Energy at the Institute of IATE.

At the end of last year, our university hosted the All-Ukrainian Creative Works Competition for the second time, dedicated to fostering a culture of integrity and combating corruption. This project, organized by the Authorized Officer for the Prevention and Detection of Corruption at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in collaboration with the Faculty of Sociology and Law, ran from October 10 to December 9, 2025, and was open to students from higher education institutions across Ukraine.

“A year of stability and strategic transformation” — this was the title given by Igor Sikorsky KPI Rector Anatoliy Melnichenko to his report at the Igor Sikorsky KPI Staff Conference. The conference was held on January 26, 2026, in the University Academic Council Hall.

Kyiv Polytechnic is not only the cradle of engineering education, from which a host of scientific and educational institutions and manufacturing enterprises have emerged. It can also be called a nurturing mother who has embraced new departments, enriching the range of technical training.

A joint educational project between the Boris Paton State Polytechnic Museum and Antonina Berezovenko, an associate professor in the Department of Ukrainian Language, Literature, and Culture at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, was dedicated to the development and application of museum pedagogy methods during the course "Culture of Oral Professional Speech (Rhetoric)“ by first-year students of the Institute of IPSA, who are majoring in ”Artificial Intelligence."

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky presented diplomas and honorary badges of the Boris Paton National Prize of Ukraine to scientists of the Department of High-Temperature Materials and Powder Metallurgy of the E.O. Paton Institute for Materials Science and Welding.

In early December, Igor Sikorsky KPI once again became a venue for professional scientific discussion. The XIV International Scientific and Technical Conference “Radio Engineering Problems, Signals, Devices, and Systems” (RTPSAS-2025) was held at the RTF, an event that has been an integral part of the faculty’s scientific life for many years.
