Graduates

   40 years have passed when we - graduating students of faculty of mining electro mechanics and automation of 1979 - left the walls of native Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

The years go by, but the names of heroes, who at the time of disaster were curbing unbridled nuclear power with no hesitation, do not vanish from the memory of thankful compatriots. Annually, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute reports about engineers, both dead and alive, who participated in elimination of the accident consequences.

On September, 20, this year, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute held a meeting of graduates of the Electrotechnical Faculty in 1960.

Dmytro Pavlovych Hryhorovych - is Ukrainian aircraft designer, creator of the first seaplane ever. He was born in hardworking intelligent family.

Valeriy Vasylovych Lobanovsky was born on January 6,1939 in Kyiv. At school he was one of the best students in the class and graduated from school with silver medal.

Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Michael Zgurovskyi, the Rector of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, received the highest award from the People's Republic of China for foreign experts who have made an outstanding contribution to economic and social progress and contributed to the country's innovative development, the “Award of Friendship”.

On August, 28 a conference of the founders of KPI Graduates Association was held at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. It began with the commemoration of Anatoliy Ivanovych Povzyk, who headed the association for more than 10 years and died in June 2018.

Volodymyr Ivanovych Semendiy, a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, is undoubtedly one of the most famous graduates of Kyiv Polytechnic. He is an honoured machine builder of Russia, an honoured member of Kamaz, an honorary citizen of Naberezhnye Chelny.
