In summer, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute opens a new dormitory. It is located on Oleksa Tykhoho Street. At present, all repair works are nearing completion.

As of May 4, in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute two cases of coronavirus have been officially confirmed. The first infected person is an employee of the Scientific and Technical Library, who is currently in hospital. The woman had no contact with university staff.

The life of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute continues during quarantine. However, the pandemic forced the introduction of new rules and made some adjustments. Today, the main task of students and university staff is to protect the health and prevent the spread of COVID19.

It got unusually quiet and empty on campus. Out of the 12,000 residents in the first ten-day period of April, only 2,373 students stayed there (counting the residents of the family dormitory - 3,021).

The annual social-sports holiday "Healthy relay" was held on May 24, 2017, on Politekhnicheskaya St. and Polyana Square. It was organized by administration of the campus of KPI with the support of the primary labor union organization of students and student social service of the University.
