The life of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute continues during quarantine. However, the pandemic forced the introduction of new rules and made some adjustments. Today, the main task of students and university staff is to protect the health and prevent the spread of COVID19. The administration is taking the necessary measures. Employees regularly clean surfaces with which people come into contact, such as turnstiles, benches, door handles. In dormitories, this is done with the help of student volunteers, who are also organized for night duty.
In general, from the beginning of quarantine Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has purchased 3500 masks, 150 liters of antiseptics and 780 pairs of disposable gloves, hazmat suits and equipment for disinfection. According to Sergey Manzyuk, Director of the Social Security Department of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the university will soon receive another 6,500 medical masks, 165 liters of antiseptics for hands, and more than 1,700 nitrile gloves.
In addition to our own efforts, aid also comes from charitable companies. Progrestech-Ukraine provided 600 masks and disinfectants to the students who remained in the dormitories. DB "Storm" provided the university with 60 liters of sinitizer free of charge.
There are currently 3,027 students in dormitories, 481 of them foreign. The Center for International Education informs foreign students about the pandemic in Ukraine, provides assistance, advice and support, including material support. The center purchased and distributed to foreign students 500 protective individual masks.
Joint concerted action and strict security measures have paid off. Today there are no patients with Covid-19 among students.
