Our university graduate Ivan Petrovich Fesenyuk (March 28, 1993 – March 13, 2024) was killed in the war.

From 2011 to 2016, he studied at the Instrument Engineering Faculty (Department of Instrument Production, now the Department of Computer-Integrated Instrument Production Technologies).

Ivan was a sergeant in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a professional athlete and coach, and an international master of kickboxing. During his studies, he participated in student kickboxing competitions. He was a university champion, a champion of the city of Kyiv, and a prize winner of the Ukrainian student championship.

In 2018–2021, he was a prize winner in numerous Ukrainian and international professional sports competitions. At the same time, he was active as a coach. He trained over 40 athletes, some of whom became champions of Ukraine.

From the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He participated in the defense of Kyiv and in the battles for Bakhmut and Avdiivka. He was a mortar gunner in the fire support platoon of the 4th assault company of the 1st assault battalion of the 3rd OSB.

He was killed on March 13, 2024, in the Avdiivka direction while saving his comrade.

The relatives of the deceased have created a petition to award him the title of Hero of Ukraine (posthumously).
