A student of our university Matvii Volobuiev (30.10.2003 - 22.12.2024) was killed in the war.
In 2022, Matvii entered the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management at the Department of Automation of Electrical and Mechatronic Complexes.
Already at the beginning of his studies, Matvii demonstrated high communication skills, and in the first year of his studies he was elected group leader because of his responsible attitude to the tasks assigned.
Matvii, the only son of his mother, decided to volunteer to defend his homeland. He joined the ranks of the Main Intelligence directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in June 2023. He served as the deputy commander of the unit and directly participated in assault operations. Liberating our land, while repulsing an enemy counterattack, in a close firefight, he fell from an enemy bullet. On the morning of December 22, 2024, an enemy group tried to break through to the unit's forward positions. Grenades and small arms were used in the battle, and in the course of a fierce and extremely tough confrontation, the enemies were killed. Unfortunately, the brave Matviy met his knightly death.
Matviy “Buyev” was distinguished by his loyalty to the cause, courage, personal bravery and died in battle defending his homeland.
