Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute commences the cooperation with розпочинає співпрацю з Холонським інститутом технологій (Ізраїль)



On October, 3, National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and the Holon Institute of Technology (HIT, Holon, State of Israel) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the development of scientific cooperation.

On behalf of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute the document was signed by the Rector, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Michael Zgurovskyi, on behalf of HIT – by its president, Professor Eduard Yakubov.

The Holon Institute of Technology is one of the leading technical colleges in Israel. The training in it is carried out on five faculties: engineering, science and technology, design, technological management and educational technologies. Each faculty has several courses in the field of computer science, industrial (applied) mathematics, industrial and integrative design, electronics, electrical engineering, technology management, and others. The Institute has state-of-the-art equipment and works closely with leading innovative enterprises in its country.

Before the signing of the Memorandum, Eduard Yakubov and the director of the tribological laboratory of HIT, professor Lev Rapoport, got acquainted with the work of several departments and institutes of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, their laboratories and scientific and educational centers opened on their basis. In addition, during a meeting with the leadership of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute they were presented with a presentation of the Science Park “Kyivska Polytechnica”, the Physical-Technical Institute and the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering. In turn, Eduard Yakubov told in detail about the institute headed by him, its departments, the scientific projects that are being implemented in them, and the principles and peculiarities of the training of specialists introduced in this educational institution. Already during the negotiations, their participants came to mutually interesting topics in the organization of the educational process, as well as in conducting research and implementation of innovative projects. There are several directions. These are, first of all, biomedical technologies, cyber defense, creation of new materials, aircraft building, organization of joint innovation activities, etc. During the conversation Michael Zgurovskyi also raised the issue of introducing dual diploma programs from some related specialties, which students study at HIT and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, and also proposed the creation of a center based on the University of Holon Institute of Technology and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, which will coordinate all joint projects and programs that will be implemented in Kyiv. On both proposals, the guests willingly agreed, so at the end of the meeting, the participants agreed on the definition of directions for further work and the exchange of letters with specific proposals for joint educational, research and innovation activities.
