At the end of March, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine Alexandru Victor Micula and the Second Secretary of the Embassy of this country Stefan Vatsean.
The guests were met by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Oleksiy Zhuchenko, Director of the Department of International Cooperation Alla Kovtun and Director of the Center for International Education of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Sergiy Maulik.
At the beginning of the visit, the guests toured the university and the exposition of the State Polytechnic Museum named after Borys Paton, stopped at the memorial stands dedicated to Kyiv polytechnics who died in the struggle for Ukraine's independence. They also visited the innovative shelter "CLUST Space" in the premises of the Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library, walked along the alley of prominent scientists whose lives and activities were closely connected with KPI.
After that, a conversation was held, the main topic of which was the prospects of cooperation between Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Romanian universities. After the presentation of the university by Sergiy Maulik, the participants of the meeting discussed specific issues of cooperation, primarily in attracting Romanian citizens to study at Kyiv Polytechnic. They also discussed the participation of KPI and Romanian universities in European programs of scientific funding. According to Oleksiy Zhuchenko, agreements were reached on the organization of exchanges between Romanian universities and KPI under the ERASMUS+ (KA1) academic mobility program. "We hope that the support of Romania will also help our university to strengthen the international educational component," he emphasized, commenting on the results of the meeting for the university media.
Kyiv Polytechnic expands international partnership
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine paid a working visit to the university campus. The diplomat got acquainted with the scientific schools of KPI, visited the Polytechnic Museum, and the smartcity.
"I believe that the university I visited is one of the best in Ukraine today," Mr. Alexandru Victor Micula said.
