On August, 29, on the session of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the university, was signed an agreement on the introduction of the double degree program in the direction "mechanical engineering" between the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and Poznań Polytechnic Institute.&
Participation in the celebration of the traditional holiday “Freshman's Day” this year was taken by the representatives from Poland. The President of the city of Poznan Jacek Yaskoviak warmly congratulated the first-year students.

At the end of June – early July, the People's Ensemble of Folk Dance of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute toured Poland with triumph. Dancers took part in three international festivals.
On September 4 the solemn opening of the reconstructed and refurbished fountain took place at KPI Museum Square in front of the monument of the KPI Professor, academician Eugene Paton.
On August 31, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute held a seminar “Prospects of Development of Ukrainian-Polish Students and Academic Staff Mobility”. The organizers of the seminar were the Polish Educational Foundation “Perspectives”, the Committee on Foreign Cooperation of the Conference of Rectors of Higher Educational Institutions of Poland and the Ukrainian - Polish Center of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
On the 30th of September a traditional holiday "freshman day" was hold in KPI. Almost 5000 girls and boys took part in the ceremony of dedication.
