On August, 29 in the Center of Culture and Arts was held a regular annual session of the scientific and pedagogical staff of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute". There was signed an agreement on double diploma in specialty of "Mechanical Engineering" between Igor Sikorsky KPI and Poznan Polytechnic Institute.
In the beginning of the meeting, the participants observed a minute of silence in the memory of the professors and workers of the university who died during the past academic year.
A report on the outcome of the university work over the 2016/17 academic year and prospects for the next year were presented by the rector of Igor Sikorsky KPI, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Michael Zgurovsky. The rector presented the main achievements of the university in educational, scientific, international and business activities. He has also formulated the goals and objectives for a new academic year (the full text of the report will be published in the newspaper "Kyiv Polytechnic").
This year, the session was held with the participation of honourable guests - members of the representative delegation of Poznan municipality, the Polish educational foundation "PERSPEKTYWY", the Section of KPI students in Poland and three Polish universities - Poznan University of Technology, Opole University of Technology and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. On behalf of the Polish delegation, the rector of the Poznan Polytechnic University, Professor Tomas Lodise, congratulated the colleagues from the Igor Sikorsky KPI. In addition to congratulations in his speech, he briefly told about his university and summed up the results of preparatory work for the deepening of cooperation, the logical conclusion of which was the signing of the agreement on double diploma in the specialty of "mechanical engineering" between Igor Sikorsky KPI and Poznan Polytechnic Institute. Accompanied by the applause of the audience, Michael Zgurovsky and Tomas Lodise sealed the document with their signatures.
On the session, the winners of the contest for the best tutorial, educational book, and monograph were presented diplomas and the certificates of conferment of the honorary title of "Outstanding worker of the National Technical University of Ukraine" Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".
The session has ended unconventionally - with a small concert shown to the teachers of the university and performed by the participants of the folklore student ensemble "Polygrodzyane" of the Poznan Polytechnic University and by the amateur theatre collectives of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
