At the initiative of the National Council of Sports Rehabilitation of Defenders of Ukraine, the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is introducing a training course “Adaptive trainer-instructor for military personnel, war veterans and their families” as part of the work of the Training and Innovation Center for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation of Kyiv Polytechnic.
The Presidential Commissioner for Rehabilitation of Combatants Vadym Svyrydenko and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Rector Anatoliy Melnychenko signed a memorandum of cooperation. It provides for the creation of conditions for the rehabilitation and socialization of war veterans, their families and the families of the deceased. This includes measures to restore physical, psychological and social functions and support during social and labor adaptation.
The program, which was developed jointly with the faculty of the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering and the Faculty of Sociology and Law of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, will train specialists who will provide quality services in physical education and sports rehabilitation and promote adaptive sports to help veterans return to civilian life as soon as possible.
