Volleyball, table tennis, football, boxing, water polo, archery, powerlifting, hiking and even rugby! These and many other sports have been actively cultivated at Kyiv Polytechnic for many years.
Student sports teams are winners of many national and international competitions. Our athletes are world champions. And the annual university-wide sports day has been one of the most anticipated events among students for many years in a row.
KPI said "no" to boring compulsory physical education classes - KPI students choose sports sections according to their preferences.
Our student Valeriy Lobanovsky played for the Kyiv Polytechnic team. Rugby in Ukraine started at KPI. And for half a century, the 10-time champion of Ukraine, the Polytechnic rugby team, has been training here.
At a meeting of the Academic Council, the National Olympic Committee recognized our university as an exemplary environment for the development of youth sports among students.
Rector of KPI Mykhailo Zgurovsky was awarded the Oleksiy Butovsky Medal and presented with his 4-volume edition.
The Ukrainian Rugby Federation presented a commemorative rugby ball.
