The second stage of fire and technological safety training with the support of the State Emergency Service took place at KPI. On the campus, rescuers taught students and campus staff how to extinguish flames, explained how to act under the rubble, in case of chemical hazards and air raid alarms.
"Today, we cannot know for sure what danger awaits us. Therefore, it is important for every student to understand how to act in case of air raid, fire or chemical hazard," said Mykyta Semydetskyi, a student of the Institute of IEE.
"This is a great opportunity to learn something useful. For example, today I learned how to use a fire extinguisher properly. And also how to behave outside the city: in the forest or field, when you accidentally come across a suspicious, possibly explosive object," says Serhii Pryz, a student of the Institute of IEE.
The rescuers simulated the evacuation of students who might be in the building during a fire, and also shared an algorithm of first actions in case of any danger.
"Notify the administration of the facility, call the fire service at 101 and announce the evacuation in the premises of the dormitory building, anywhere. People should always have a chance to evacuate the building before the service arrives," emphasized Vyacheslav Kurmanchuk, Chief of the 3rd STATE FIRE AND RESCUE UNIT of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv.
