RSE, a manufacturer of mobile cogeneration solutions based on MWM (Caterpillar Energy Solutions) engines, has signed a memorandum of strategic partnership with Igor Sikorsky KPI and announced the start of work on the Energy Resilience Lab.

The new space will become part of the Scientific and Educational Center for Energy Decarbonization and the KPI Energy Innovation Hub and will be transformed into an educational and demonstration center this fall, where students, engineers, and community representatives will learn to create and implement solutions for energy resilience.

Why is this important?

In the context of war, energy autonomy has become a matter of survival for cities and communities.

"RSE is a modular mobile thermal power plant that keeps the country going. We are creating autonomous energy for communities, hospitals, and critical infrastructure — where it is needed most,“ says Andriy Hrynenko, founder of RSE. ”At RSE, together with KPI, we hope to educate a generation of energy engineers of the future. This is not just an educational project — it is a contribution to the reconstruction and energy independence of Ukraine."

"Today, universities must not only provide a high level of theoretical training, but also be platforms for practical solutions that change the country. Energy Resilience Lab is just such an example. Thanks to our partnership with RSE, we are not just creating another classroom — we are forming an environment where students can gain experience working with modern technologies that are already saving lives and restoring Ukraine's energy resilience," emphasized Anatoliy Melnychenko, rector of Igor Sikorsky KPI.

What are we building?

The Energy Resilience Lab will be the first educational platform in Ukraine where you can:

🔵 learn how to work with mobile cogeneration stations;
🔵 master the principles of decentralized and backup energy;
🔵 study case studies of real RSE implementations in frontline cities, hospitals, and logistics hubs;
🔵 work with demonstration stands based on MWM / Caterpillar technologies.

What's next?

Construction and renovation work has already begun. In the fall of 2025, the laboratory will welcome its first students. A team of teachers and mentors is already being formed, training modules are being developed, and demonstration models of equipment are being prepared.

“RSE and KPI are working together to train the next generation of energy engineers. This is not just an educational project — it is a contribution to the reconstruction and energy independence of Ukraine,” emphasizes the RSE team.
