On March, 17, 2018 the 2nd (final) round of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Mathematics took place in the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
The rates of this year's Olympiad were much higher than of the previous one, both in terms of number and geography of the participants. This year about 600 students registered to participate in the Olympiad. The first (remote) round was successfully passed by 350 participants, but not all of them managed to reach the Building #7 of the KPI on the day of the final round due to bad weather conditions.
Students from the Dnipro, Mariupol, Rivne, Krivyi Rig, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Khmelnytsky, Chernigov, Severodonetsk and many other cities and villages of Ukraine took part in the Olympiad.
It is only fair to assert that the mathematical Olympiad for entrants became the main event of spring for those Ukrainian students, who plan to study at the leading university of Ukraine, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
The winners of the Olympiad's final round, which took part at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, have additional points for the Certificate of External Evaluation in Mathematics (the list of specialties for which this provision applies is indicated in Appendix 2 to the Conditions of admission to the University in 2018).
Students of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics took an active part in organizing the event along with the teachers of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory. The most active students received gratitude certificates from the faculty.
Preliminary results of the final round of the Olympiad are published on http://matan.kpi.ua/uk/vstup2018-olimpiada-results2-pre.html
