Conference "Mathematics in a modern technical university"

The X International Scientific and Practical Conference “Mathematics in a Modern Technical University” was held at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute for two days on February 20-21, 2025.  Since 2013, it has been regularly organized by the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Philosophy of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Each of the previous conferences was attended by more than 100 participants, who made more than 900 reports in total.

Week of mathematics 2025 in KPI: Intellectual battles, creativity and passion for science

In March, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute hosted the traditional Mathematics Week, a series of events that demonstrated how interesting, interactive and modern this science can be. The significance of the event was supported by the rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Anatoliy Melnychenko: he recorded a video message to the participants, in which he emphasized the importance of developing mathematical culture among young people and its role in scientific and technological progress. 

The "Step by Step Test" system and other educational innovations: workshop in Bratislava

In early December last year, the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava hosted an international workshop AdaMass Partnership Meeting. The event brought together teachers and researchers from different countries, including Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Norway, to discuss pressing issues in mathematics education and find innovative solutions. Representatives of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Olena Tymoshenko, Kateryna Moskvychova, and Olga Pelekhata also took part in the event (see photo). 

Mykhailo Kravchuk: The Voice of the Mute Number

Mykhailo Kravchuk, the author of the first dictionary of Ukrainian mathematical terminology, was born today. He is a world-famous KPI professor who made computers, television, and 3D modeling a reality.
