World famous scientists

Since 1932 Naum Pylypovych has casted his lot with Kyiv industrial (later politechnical) institute, where he worked as laboratory assistant, engineer, assistant and assistant professor of radio-technical department.

The founder of the Cybernetics of chemical technology processes department, Professor Alla Hrygorivna Bodnar, departed from this life 25 years ago.

In 2006, it was the 150th anniversary of the birth of one of the greatest pioneers and ardent advocate of the ideas of aeronautics and aviation in Ukraine KPI Professor Mikola Borisovich Delaunay (1856 - 1931).

With the post-war years the life and work of Academician Vitaly Nikiforovich Gridnev a prominent scientist and educator, a talented organizer of science and higher education, is closely associated with the KPI.

By the time he has had extensive experience of research and teaching. Indeed, since the mid-30s he worked in Metallurgical and Physico-Technical Institute in Dnepropetrovsk along with academics V.M. Svechnikov and H.V. Kurdyumov, internationally recognized specialists metallographers.

V.L. Kyrpychov was born in 1845 in St. Petersburg in the family of the mathematician in the military school. He graduated from Polotsk Cadet Corps, then Mikhailovsky Artillery School, served two years in the fortress of Kronstadt artillery.

Commemoration meeting devoted to 80th anniversary of outstanding thermophysical instrument engineering scientist, founder of Ukrainian heat measurement school Oleg Arkadiyovych Gerashchenko was held on September 27th in House of Scientists. It was arranged by the Institute of Physics of the NAS of Ukraine and State Polytechnic museum of NTUU “KPI”.
