On 22 April at 13.05 Kyiv time automatic space ferry vehicle “Cygnus CRS OA-7” of Orbital ATK Company that was launched by carrier rocket “Atlas V” into space on 18 April reached International Space Station (ISS)
In April, 18 at 11.11 local time carrier rocket of American consortium United Launch Alliance «Atlas V» was launched from cosmodrome on Cape Canaveral (USA) with transport ship "Cygnus".
On June 19th one year passed since the first Ukrainian nanosatellite "PolyITAN-1" has been placed in orbit!
February 9, the Chairman of the National Space Agency of Ukraine Oleg Urusky visited National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".
June 19, 2014 the first Ukrainian nanosatellite PolyITAN-1 was launched in Earth orbit. It was created by scientists, engineers and students FHPE, FRE, FE, ESITS under the guidance of Head of laboratory of nanosatellite technology FHPE, Senior Reshercher, Ph.D.
The students of our university worked on the development and the creation of nano-satellite PolyITAN-1. They are in particular: Dmitry Turin, Anton Snurnitsin, Alexander Chaplygin, Eugene Kovalenko, Anna Sergeeva, Nazariy Bendasyuk.
On the night of June, 20 the first Ukrainian Nanosatellite “PolyITAN-1” designed at National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" was put into Earth orbit!
Kyiv Polytechnic - the alma mater of outstanding designers of aviation and space technology, who changed our time, our world for the better. In particular, S.P. Korolev, I.I. Sikorski, V.M. Chelomei, L.V. Lyulev, A.M. Lulka, V.I. Kalinin and others were studied here.
Today most of large higher educational establishments in the world have university small-size space craft (SC) – nanosatellite creation programs. Creation of nanosatellites is a promising area of youth involvement with space subject.
1955. Space? Sputnik? These words belonged to science fiction. And although geophysical rocket rose into the sky higher and higher, and even for few minutes reached the comic heights, it was hard to believe that the space age will come so soon.
