Department of Ecological Biotechnology and Bioenergetics FBT was established in 2004 on the initiative of the Rector of "KPI" Academician M. Zgurovsky.

On September 7, 2012, Educational Scientific Center of x-ray analysis NTUU "KPI" – "RIGAKU" was opened in NTUU "KPI". Today it is the most advanced center of x-ray diffraction in Ukraine. It is equipped with x-ray diffractometer "Ultima IV" produced in Japanese corporation "RIGAKU."
