Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute became a co-organizer of the forum “The strategy for developing the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine, and the role of the private sector in it." The Association of Ukrainian Defense Manufacturers (AUDM) initiated the event. Representatives of the Ministry of Strategic Industries, SC Ukroboronprom, Black Trident LLC, Independent Defence Anti-Corruption Committee (NAKO), and private companies attended the forum.
At present, improving the legal framework is a topical issue in the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine. Defense companies still face and overcome many unjustified difficulties. Therefore, the meeting participants paid considerable attention to implementing the Law of Ukraine "On Defense Procurement". They addressed the procedure for implementing bylaws related to the development, serial production, and purchase of weapons and military equipment. Favorable conditions for the private defense companies to enter the market are also essential. After all, private companies fulfilled more than 50% of defense orders, said Serhii Averchenko, Adviser to the Minister for Strategic Industries, During the forum, we debated the issue of simplifying the system of registration of arms manufacturers and their entry into domestic and foreign markets. We are interested in this new feature because private producers are more mobile. They also implement innovations faster, and we are very pleased that they are concerned about the country's defense capabilities.
Ruslan Dzhalilov, Head of Airborne Logistics, Director, Board Member of the AUDM, is convinced that the partnership, open position of the Ministry for Strategic Industries on the private defense sector will facilitate the implementation of projects as soon as possible, We raised the issue of obtaining the authority of our companies to enter foreign arms markets. We want to get the prerogative not in a complex current procedure but through simplified algorithms and processes. We believe that due to the growth of exports, we can saturate the budget of Ukraine to create the latest, modern models of weapons and military equipment.
The AUDM representatives that unite about a hundred national companies and produce defense products also stressed the importance of cooperation with the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. The research and education component can play an essential communicative role between the public and private sectors.
In addition, the latest developments and innovative technical solutions of scientists of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute are valuable for the industry. Therefore, one expects that Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Association of Ukrainian Defense Manufacturers will sign a memorandum of cooperation as part of the festival of innovation projects Sikorsky Challenge. Our joint work will bring the production of armaments to a new level, said Ruslan Dzhalilov, the AUDM Director and Board Member, Such institutions as Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute create new technologies and solutions. Their implementation serves as the basis for modern models of weapons and military equipment. At the forum, we agreed to exchange information to implement the technologies developed at the University. The defense industry needs the latest technologies, especially in IT, robotics, and electronic warfare.
We are eager to receive information about the latest technologies. Thus, we will establish a single consortium of the latest models of military equipment.
