On May 28, the XXIV International Scientific and Technical Conference “Fluid mechanics in engineering practice” started in the Hall of the Academic Council of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

Almost 100 participants from universities of Ukraine, Poland, Georgia, Bulgaria and other countries arrived at the conference: scientists, teachers, students, industry and business representatives. For the opening of the conference a collection of 86 reports on these topics was published.

The Director of the Institute of Hydromechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine V. T. Grinchenko, Director of the IME of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine M. I. Bobyr and Head of the Conference Organizing Committee, Professor O. M. Yakhno addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.

On the first day of the conference, the following reports were heard: “Aviation safety, developments and experience of “ANTONOV” State-owned Enterprise” (Vice-President for Design of “ANTONOV” State-owned Enterprise A.V. Los’), “Formation of a pulsed supersonic jet and its control in a limited area” (Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine G.A. Voropaiev; Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Senior Researcher Y. V. Zagumenny, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Senior Researcher N. V. Rozumniuk; leading engineer Y. A. Sirosh, Institute of Hydromechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv), “Investigation of the influence of the operational characteristics of mechatronic systems on the intensity of implementation “Industry-4,0” reforms and development of ways to increase it” (Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor R. S. Turmanidze, Georgian Technical University, Tbilisi), “Key Trends in Production Transformation in the age of “Industry 4,0” and the main challenges to the engineering and working personnel” (Candidate of Political Sciences Y. S. Ryzhenko, a subsidiary “Festo”, Kyiv) and others – 7 reports sum total.

Further, the conference will continue in sections: “Technical hydromechanics”, “Hydro-pneumatic actuators and mechatronics systems”, “Hydraulic and pneumatic machines, hydraulic transmissions”, “Automated logistic systems”.

The final plenary session of the conference will be held on May 29. It will sum up its results and take appropriate decisions.
