Ivan I. Drong (12.04.1907 - 11.12.1993) - a graduate of the KPI 1931, tractor equipment designer, winner of two State Prizes of the USSR, the chief designer of the Minsk Tractor Plant, under whose leadership a world-renowned family of tractors "Belarus" was created.

The seminar called “The intellectual property right in the context of the national legislation” under the initiative of the Government intellectual property service of Ukraine at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” took place on the 14th of December, 2012.

December 13 in NTUU "KPI" there were held the events, envisaged by the program of the third, the last day of the finals of the All-Ukrainian Festival of innovative projects.

December 12, 2002 An outstanding Ukrainian heart surgeon, scientist, writer, academician of the USSR and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Hero of Socialist Labor Nikolai Amosov died.

On December 6, 2012 a delegation of "Tokyo Boeki Technology Ltd." (Japan) headed by its president Mr. Kazuei Uchida and Mr. Oleksiy Shpak, managing director of company’s office in Ukraine, visited NTUU "KPI".

The 6th of December, at the day of Armed Forces of Ukraine and on the eve of International day of civilian aviation, took place a sonorous ceremony of opening the science lab-flight IAK-40.

On November 12-13, 2012 in NTUU "KPI" the presentation of EUROEAST project in the framework of the Erasmus Mundus programme took place.

EUROEAST is a project of academic mobility for students, scholars and staff who are willing to study, to carry out research and training in universities of the European Union and CIS.

Team KPI Rugby "Polytechnic" was created in 1962 by Valentin Hannem (student of 2nd course of the faculty of automation and instrumentation), who was a talented Sprinter.
